Summer Fun Guide with Dollar General

As you gear up for the summer with your little ones, I wanted to share some products from Dollar General that will help make this summer a special one. I’ve compiled a comprehensive list of items with links to the Dollar General website to help to navigate and find what you need efficiently.

Summer will look quite different for all of us, but it will especially look different for our children. Nova will not be attending summer camp this year, and I feel so sad because this would have been her first year going. Because of this, I’m doing my best to find ways to make this summer amazing and I’m starting off by picking up some fun amazing items from DG.

First, I wanted to highlight the Dollar General app and coupons that can be used when looking for your summer items. I love that I was able to go into the app and search and select all of the items that I was interested in getting. Within the app, it also lets you know if that particular product is at the location you will be visiting.

Summer Items

Character Bubbles and Chalk

If you have a toddler, I’m sure they are obsessed with bubbles, all different kinds. I found Nova some cute Paw Patrol bubbles that she loves. We sat out in the backyard for at least 30 minutes blowing so many bubbles. So simple but extremely, fun. It really doesn’t take much to make kids happy at this age and I love it. I also picked up some Paw Patrol character chalk to mark up the concrete once we finished blowing bubbles.

Kiddie Pool and Water Slip and Slide

With community and resident pools being closed due to the pandemic, I had to pick up a kiddie pool and a slide that would keep Nova entertained for hours, and it did just that. She had such a fun time and I’m sure we will be doing this every other day!

Summer BBQ

Lastly, there’s no summer fun without a summer cookout! This is what I love about summer, gathering with family and having a good time, with good foods and good vibes. These moments are so special and I’m glad Dollar General had all of the necessary items to make this cookout so fun. From the napkins, plates, cups, cutlery, buns, etc. Dollar General had it all.

I would also like to highlight that Dollar General has their own brand of wine, Brightlands that I was so excited to try it. I particularly loved the Chardonnay, but I can’t wait to try the others!

All of the items listed above were budget friendly ways to get my family ready for the summer for under $85!
